Life

a hop, skip, and a jump around the Pacific Ocean

{That basically sums up what we did the past 10 days!}
When we left, it was the end of Christmas.
When we crossed the international date line and arrived in the last frontier state, it was Christmas..  again!
{cali merlot, alaskan salmon, smoked salmon caesar, fresh fried calamari. what dreams are made of.}

It’s
a relief that we packed for every climate because we started out in
ALASKA! – one of our all-time favorite states .. which was a refreshing below 0
and total winter wonderland. Though it was literally freezing, it is so
unbelievably beautiful and we’re already trying to figure out when we
can go back!

{we actually paid a taxi to drive us to in n out.. judge us if you please but it was worth every penny!}

we got stuck midway trying to hop on a flight, and then.. made it to Oahu!

sleep in. beach all day until sunset. repeat! so wonderful.

It’s been years since either of us have been to Hawaii and it was the first time being there together.

They were glorious days!! to say the least.
We
left yesterday, flew 9 hours to Tokyo, then 3 to Oki, and got back to
our little beach casa at midnight, happy and exhausted.
We are so so soo thankful that we can fly space-a literally all around the world.
We’ve been taking advantage of it since we got married; it’s such an awesome opportunity.
Yes,
there were sleepless nights we spent in the terminals trying to get on
flights and had a C-5 break and had to deplane at 3 in the morning ~ but
that’s just part of the traveling hilarity that goes along with hopping
on military missions.
It’s simply a fantastic adventure every time.

    And I'm not sure if you stayed in Anchorage or not but that food in the first set of pictures looks like it came from The Glacier Brewhouse…

    wow. the "sleep in. beach all day until sunset. repeat! so wonderful." made me totallyyyy jealous. it's so funny. when we lived on the west coast we were like "oh, hawaii, yeah, it's okay" because it was so close we completely took it for granted. now we keep talking about how we can't wait to go back when we move home (not that Europe isn't incredible, just TOTALLY different from tropical destinations like Hawaii!).

    P.S. can you tell us more about how this hopping on random plans works? i'm sooo curious about the logistics! you can go ANYWHERE?! want to come to Amsterdam for a visit?! ๐Ÿ™‚

    How fun for the two of you. I always dreaded Space A as it seemed like whenever trying to go home from Iraq there were delays. But for fun trips it would be a bonus
