Rain & Earthquakes Today

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

 I don't have a lot of photos to share today because it is pouring.
And earth-quaking.
As I write this, our house is literally shaking!

We didn't realize before moving here how often earthquakes happen in this region.
But Japan is right on the Pacific Ring of Fire
& there's tremors almost daily in one part of the country or another.

I woke up the other night during one, waited for aftershocks and then curled right back up to Cam and fell back asleep. He slept right through it.
And my thought process a few minutes ago went something like this. "Oh.. Woah. The deck is moving again.. crazy. Now stop getting distracted." {I'm doing travel research today for our Thailand trip! Hooray!}

I hope you/we never live through a devastating quake like Japan or New Zealand's last year.
Japan's anniversary is in a few days on the 11th.
The non-serious quakes though are pretty exciting to experience.
Reminds me that there is Something far greater than us in control. Immediately puts things into perspective.

  1. Wow, that must be strange. I live not too far away from you, in Korea but we don't get earthquakes or tremors here often. I think I remember a couple of very small ones a few years ago.

    When I was back in England about 5 years ago there was an earthquake, not severe but it was definitely weird!

    Stay safe and have fun planning Thailand, it's a great country! Ive traveled there on 5 separate occasions because I love it so much! :)
