Koh Samui, Thailand {Part One}

Wednesday, June 6, 2012

Early on in our marriage, we promised to honeymoon once a year for our anniversary.
Even if just for a weekend {like last year} or a day, or in this case, a whole week! Marriage is totally worth the all-out celebration. There's so much to say about Thailand, including the gorgeous cliffside resort we stayed at {the dollar goes far in Thailand} but first, I don't want to forget the first day there or the overall feel of the whole week..  Sun, amazing Thai food {we ate our weight in pad thai!}, hours-long dinners every night, our outdoor jacuzzi bath tub {!}, zero distractions, starting every morning with a coffee date..  it was so romantic and sweet. The first day was incredibly relaxing ~ playing in the infinity pool outside our room, sun bathing,  reading, and in the afternoon we hiked {hah, stumbled?!} down the seriously steep mountain to the beach below and to a really cute oceanside Italian restaurant..

  1. Wow, wow, wow! Your resort and outdoor jacuzzi is out of this world! How do you find these place, do you just browse around or have you gotten recommendations from people who have been? I love having long lunches and dinners / lunches turned dinners with Jurgen - so fun to spend hours chatting and catching up :)

  3. It is very important to 'honeymoon' each year around your anniversary OR at least some sort of vacation! I wish I could get my husband to plan our 4 year anniversary trip this year. It's like pulling teeth!!! xoxo A-

  12. umm...

    WOW

    that;s probably all that's need for this post, but since i am eloquently long winded, it will not and shall not suffice..

    maybe double wow? WOW, WOW, WOWZERS!

    but seriously, these pictures are TO DIE for... and you have convinced me to go there (i always worry about visiting that part of the world because i dont eat meat, or dairy (often), or bugs, or things that don't look like mexican food...

    but i think i could handle those palm trees, that water, those infinity pools, and day long dates at one location (with multiple bottles of wine..) i mean, i could try... (:

  15. Lunch which turned into 2 bottles of wine plus the whole afternoon and evening?! My kind of girl :) I loved Koh Thao and this looks even more lovely than that. I am also a firm believer in taking some time to celebrate marriage and anniversaries each and every year. Time well spent!
