It's a sad early Saturday morning. We lost our sweet Daisy.
She made it longer than any vet expected her to -- almost to 15 years old, which for a German Shepherd-Husky mix is a long, long time. She really was thee sweetest doggy, more like a little lamb in her disposition than the huge Shepherd she was. We rescued her from the Pound when I was a little girl and she was totally devoted to our family all these years, so happy just to be by our sides. Dogs really come into your hearts and become a member of the family, don't they? Explains why it's hard to lose them.
It is possible for doggys to smile because Daisy so often was! My little brother and I called her ridiculous pet names like "Zee Girl, Daiseeee Girl, Zeebeebee!" said in high-pitched voices as we'd pet or hug her and she always looked like she was beaming from the attention.
She was my doggy. I got to pick her out & name her as a little girl {who else names a German Shepherd Daisy!?} and my parents took the best care of her when I went away to college, then Italy, DC, got married and again moved, all the way to Japan. Whenever I come across this verse in Proverbs, I always, always think of my parents who so lovingly have always cared for Dais, when she was a rambunctious little puppy to her last years when she could barely walk... "A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal." {Proverbs 12:10} Amen, Mom & Dad.
My Dad reminded us on the phone of something so profound -- that we really get insight into the Lord's goodness & sweetness through dogs and the way they love us so unconditionally.

So so sorry for your loss. Sounds like she had a great life with your family.
