Motovun, Croatia

Dobar dan from the beautiful hilltop town of Motovun! I am in love with this part of Istria, the region of Croatia that borders Italy. Croatians here are friendly, warm and deeply connected to the land. I think that’s part of what makes the atmosphere so lovely and down to earth.

Time seems to move a bit slower here. There’s always time for coffee, a meal with local truffles and so much good wine.

The front view from our apartment rental. That’s a wine shop and tasting room conveniently located right across the way. Each morning we’ve walked a few doors up this cobblestone street for chocolate croissants and amazing coffee, and another walk along the medieval walls.

I love living here. We feel like it’s truly our second home.
