John Shea Does, Vol. 3

I try to remember to write these down in the kids' journals, but it's always fun to share them here, too! Here's some of the adorable things our joyful little man has been doing lately to put a smile on your face...

On all of our road trips, he sings for the majority of it (I'm talking 3-4 hours). It's hilarious because he mostly hums and sings slurred words totally out of tune. He sings while playing with his tractors, in the bathtub, helping Daddy with yard work and most especially when I give him something to eat that he really loves. We always know he's ok while playing outside because we can hear him singing. My favorite lately is, "MaaaMaaMaama, Mama!"

While in the Julian Alps, he ran up an entire alpine meadow by himself, singing at the top of his lungs the whole way.

We never go more than a few minutes here without passing another tractor. In the car every time it's, "OH YEAH! LOOK AT THAT!" And if we're walking, there are tears and tantrums until he gets to drive it.

He runs to his sister every morning (and all throughout the day) and hugs her (...usually a chokehold) and kisses her head. One of his favorite books was gifted by our friend Lorraine, about adventures of a brother and his little sister out in the country. It takes so long to get to the end because literally every other page when I read, "little sister" he excitedly grabs Gracie for a kiss and pat on the head.

So many times a day, we look over at him and he's quietly pretending his finger is an impact hammer and his arm is an excavator (I have only learned what those are since becoming his mama!) digging up and dumping out imaginary dirt.

He's not quite ready to lose his diapers (we're slowly working on it!) but he loves to sit on the potty with a good book.

Cam and John Shea were snuggled up to watch a movie together the other weekend, until he came downstairs on a mission. He put our empty wooden popcorn bowl on the floor, ran to the kitchen and then placed the jar of popcorn kernels next to it with his empty milk cup and the bottle of milk perfectly lined up next to that. Then he gave me a big sheepish smile as if to say, soooo... what do you think, Mom?!
