baby marshall Life pregnancy

26 Weeks on Ishigaki Island

Some bebe updates…

Nursery: We have a lot left to do, but ooh, I’m having fun with it as it slowly comes along. I love nesting. It’s like my normal enjoyment of interior decorating but on hyper-speed.  This is the wall map I mentioned before that Cam’s building a frame for… it’s even more beautiful in person.

Movement: We already loved feeling our son move in my belly, but now we can see him move.  Bananas. I feel him all the time now, so I know he’s getting much bigger. I also felt his little hiccups for the first time this week! Sweet little guy.

Cravings: Cam finally took me to get ice cream for the first time since being pregnant. Ice cream for the first time in almost 7 months? Who am I?! I always imagined myself having crazy cravings, but nothing yet. It’s all about red meat for this baby boy. And a lot of fruit and tomatoes. I do continue to dream about red wine though and have made Cam promise that he’ll have a bottle waiting in the delivery room to celebrate(;

Registry: I’ve had fun with this, too! There are so many adorable baby things … like these cutie swim diapers, this little bear hat, and this print that I’d like to hang in his nursery so he’s reminded while he grows up to be a gentleman. This mint buck print is already framed. And this horse or lambie rocker?! Too cute.

Good Advice: One of my sisters wisely told me that maybe the hardest part about pregnancy is learning to re-train your mind as a female toward weight gain; to see it as beautiful and healthy, as it is, while you’re pregnant. Convicts me about how I’d let the world shape my view. Also, I’ve been reminded that the best thing I can do for our baby is to be in and treasuring God’s Word every day… that what goes into my heart and mind is what’s most important for him. Everything else stems from that.

Maternity Clothes: I have a post coming on my favorites, both maternity and non-maternity.

    you look wonderful pretty mama!! and yes as a woman it is hard to watch the scale creep up day-by-day but at the same time it is freeing and exciting because your baby is being formed! and i, too, have had to remind myself that time in His word is the most important. period. to-do lists and shopping lists will be there even after the baby, but the best thing is for our sweet babes is a mama's who's heart is constantly being shaped by the Lord….

    love u beautiful mama!!

    that is great advice. I've wondered how I'll be when I'm pregnant if the weight gain would effect me (mentally). I've thought about it, but like you said with reading the word and staying close to God, I think all those things will work out just fine. I'm pretty sure feeling and seeing them move inside will wipe away any crazy thoughts. What a treat that must be!

    I think I'm more stressed about pregnancy weight gain with this pregnancy than my first! Then again, my first pregnancy, I had this grand idea that I would use pregnancy as an excuse to eat anything and everything, and I packed on 60lbs on my 5'4 frame! This pregnancy, I've been extra mindful about what I eat and working out. So far, so good! You look great, and like you said, live in God's word, and everything else just becomes "the small stuff."
