Baby’s First Run

My doctor said I’m good to run again at my postpartum appointment yesterday. Hooray, my bod is healed!!  Praise God.
Baby John is on his 6 week growth spurt and has been up every hour of the night this week working really hard on his adorable triple chins and thigh rolls. Caffeine and an early morning run is the best remedy I know of to wake myself up and to get someone to sleep. We ended with a long walk on the Army Special Forces base that is really quiet with paved roads and lots of sugarcane fields. My sweet boy slept the entire way to the sound of wind and chirping cicadas.
Saying ohayo gozaimas {good morning} to the farmers
{He took off his jacket so I could see his “Hanes North Carolina” shirt. Ha. Too cute!}
Three blowouts, two meltdowns and one absolutely adorable sad face later…

    It's awesome that you take your sweet little son outside with you for your runs! ๐Ÿ™‚ Here in Norway, I've seen a lot of people who strap that little children to their backs when they go for their mountain runs – they're usually a bit older than John, but still isn't that crazy? ๐Ÿ™‚

    I like that the straps go so short around him, does the seat recline a bit as well? I have to wait to use my jogger until my little man is six months old (sits up & has good head control). It must feel so great to get outside again ๐Ÿ™‚

    HA! OMG Olivia makes the same face and her bottom lip quivers – so sad but so cute at the same time!!

    So happy to hear you are able to resume! I am nearing 4 weeks on Friday and cannot WAIT to start running again (although things still dont feel right – eh hem – down there) Hoping by 6 weeks it feels better and they bless me to run again. I miss it so much!

    Also, question for you! We have a Bob stroller as well and I read that some people say not to use it until 6 months and others say its no big deal – did your pediatrician give you the okay? I don't see why it would matter – but happy to see you using it – because I want to use ours!

      We say it comes down to common sense! John didn't fit when we first tried him in it but he's such a chunk now that he fits great and doesn't slide around at all. The harness fits him really well now and he's nice and comfy in there. So I think it just depends on your baby ๐Ÿ™‚

    With the BOB it sorta depends on your kiddo. Our little man had pretty good head control so we started running with him at 3 months. 6 weeks is a little earlier then norm but if he can sit up ok then it should be fine. Honestly the harness holds them in so so well, it hugs their hips and the straps hold their head well. If you're worried you can stuff blankets on either side of them for a little more support. I think it depends on your terrain too. I wouldn't do trail running until they are a bit older or a lot of city running that involves a lot of rough curbs but if you are on a nice path what's the diff if it's a little faster then a walk??? ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi ya! Your kiddo is just too cute!! Just wanted to let you know that BOB stroller does not recommend running with an infant till the kid is 8 months old. Totally lame, I know. I actually starting running with my son at 6 mo because he is a tall kid and we put towels on the sides so he didn't slide way over. Anyway, you can still walk with him in it if you have him in his infant car seat. Do you have the attachment for that? Sorry to be such a downer, just wanted to make sure your little guy is safe.

    You have some really great posts and I feel you would be a good asset. Have you ever considered to invest in Koh Samui long term rentals? Thank you!

    He is so adorable, Amanda! I'm glad you're feeling well enough to run…God is so good to give our bodies healing after children come. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thankfully the growth spurts don't last too long, hang in there, Momma! ๐Ÿ™‚
