1 Year on Okinawa / A Year To Remember

July: We moved to beautiful Okinawa. We were blessed to find a flat with the most gorgeous view of the East China Sea. We went to Cape Zanpa & the Northern most cape of the island and explored. We befriended locals at our neighborhood sushi and yakitori restaurants. Cam got his platoon. We learned to drive on the left side of the road. Take My Breath Away Stunning

Just another day in Japanese paradise. (: We've been really busy this week sponsoring a couple who just arrived on island. The best part {along with getting to know them} has been showing them around the island & introducing them to the culture. When Your Neighbor Gives You a Basket of Fresh-Picked Okra

Our neighbors are always out early in the morning farming when I'm walking half awake to the beach to run. They either wear military cammies or faded neon wind pants survived from the 80's with their straw hats. They totally crack me up. Sunday Evening in Yomitan

{Every Sunday we hear the familiar sound of our 75+ year old neighbors outside riding their bikes  to play gateball, drinking, and yelling at each other in Japanese} The richest cultural lessons are everywhere when we walk out our front door.
