Fall Life our zagreb home

Bringing Fall Inside

(The perfect reminder: Give Thanks Grain Sack Pillow c/o of the amazing shop, With Lavender and Grace)

There’s been a few times when Cam has been on his way home from school and has seen our car parked on the side of the road next to a wooded area. The first time he was confused as to why… until he saw his wife smiling sheepishly at him, cutting branches. Now he just laughs and shakes his head and pulls over next to me when he sees me out foraging. I picked a lot of blossoms and gorgeous wild roses during the spring and summer, now I’m on to bringing home colorful maple branches. Soon it will be time to pick evergreens to make into wreaths and garland. There are so many gorgeous forests around our neighborhood, it’s hard to resist! I often see our neighbors out doing the same. During the summer, I liked to stop and pick a few roses on my way back home after a run, but almost every time a sweet elderly man had beat me to it. He finally noticed me one evening, and understanding our shared love of garden roses, gave me half of his picked bouquet. Then we walked back together. I came home beaming — partly because of the beautiful and fragrant roses, but mostly because he was so precious.

The Creator has provided so much beauty for us to enjoy and to decorate with. For a natural, free and beautiful way to liven and celebrate in your home each season, bring the outside in!

I love the simplicity of your decorating! How do you not acquire so many things with all your travels? I feel like we do every time we travel or live overseas and end up with too many momentos I don't want to give up!

Oh gosh… I do!!!! Come over and you'll see. But I can't have little nicknacks out unless I want them broken by two little toddlers I know and love ๐Ÿ˜‰ And I always think less is more (and it's more organized for our crazy days!)

Such a good reminder we don't always need to spend a bunch of money on flowers — but can look right outside our door! ๐Ÿ™‚ If only I felt crafty enough to make a wreath… xoxoxo, lanneybear
