Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Sea Salt Kisses

 Sweet + salty is like a kiss on the lips to a pregnant girl. Or, any girl for that matter! (: Hence my name for these delectable cookies.

Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Sea Salt Kisses
{makes about 3 dozen}

1 C smooth peanut butter {I used natural but feel free to use what you have}
2 eggs at room temperature
1/2 lb {2 sticks} butter at room temperature
1 C raw sugar
1 C organic unbleached flour
1 T vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon sea salt, plus more for topping
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 C good quality chocolate chips or chunks 

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. I’ve found that baking cookies at a lower temperature for a few minutes longer makes them fluffier and softer, than at 375 degrees F.

In a large bowl, mix the butter, raw sugar and vanilla extract until creamy. Beat in the eggs, then the peanut butter. 

Combine the flour, salt and baking soda together in a small bowl and incorporate into the butter and egg mixture, until everything is combined.

Add in the glorious chocolate chips or chunks, gently folding into the dough. At this point, I rolled my dough in plastic wrap {parchment paper works well too} and froze it since I was making these for a friend’s birthday the following day. If you plan to make all of the cookies immediately, scoop spoonfuls of dough about two inches apart from each other on the baking sheet. Sprinkle a bit of sea salt on each one. Bake for about 13-15 minutes, or until just golden brown on the edges of the cookies. Leave the center moist so you will have a softer, more chewy cookie.
