Dawn over Halong Bay

{chicken noodle pho for breakfast}
When we travel, it’s totally normal for Cam to sleep in since he rarely gets to and it’s typical for me to be wide awake before dawn each morning because I am soo excited.
This particular morning was.. unreal.
I was on the top deck before anyone else was awake, when first light was just starting to shine behind the island formations, casting their shadows on the perfectly still water.
Just me, my Creator & my camera.
It was utterly silent until the sun started to rise, and with it, bird songs and monkeys from the islands close to where we were docked.
I just stood taking it all in..  in awe.

    Hey, Amanda! Love the photos, thank you so much for sharing. Were you signing in an older gentleman at the KAB commissary today around 4:00-4:30ish? I am pretty certain I saw you but didn't want to introduce myself and say, "HEY! I recognize you from your blog."

    Unreal is right, and you've captured that space between heaven and earth perfectly. Gorgeous.

    ps… I love pho. I eat it at least once a week. Beef with lots of siracha.

    I love the symmetry in most of those — you are so fancy, Mrs Marsha! I love that you were the only one up at the crack of before-dawn — that figures! And I bet you didn't even have cappuccino to give you a boost ๐Ÿ™‚ hope you are finally getting over the sickness and enjoying time with the fam!! The Lanna Bear missed you on Saturday — we almost made it all the way down to Tim's Sea Shore and we remembered our fun boat day before you left!!

    This looks like it was from a movie where a ghost ship would appear.

    I'm surprised National Geographic isn't eating you up girl

    um. wow. unreal. beauiful pics.

    and how much pho did you eat on your trip? it's my absolute favorite dish on this planet. Did you ever go to Pho 75 in arlington when you lived in DC? holy moly, that place is good. but probably not as good as the pho you ate on your trip, obviously.
