Life Okinawa

Explore

{incredible.}
We were out walking together last night
around sundown when the narrow streets are lively with locals walking —
Grandmas in two’s, kids in their karate uniforms on their way to class
at our neighbor’s dojo… all of us bowing with our heads as we passed.
Evenings like these make us feel especially thankful to get to live here
right now.
And evenings when we break down and go on base to eat our hearts out at Chili’s makes us feel especially thankful to still be able to eat American, like Americans.. every now and then!!

    Amazing! Looks like these could have been taken in Hawaii ๐Ÿ™‚

    I loved all of the monuments in Japan, it's like the country never holds a grudge with anyone, but rather focuses on dedicating memorials to world peace etc. This one looks beautiful – incredible to think that so much devastation occurred here at one time!

    I can't get over how beautiful it is. I mean, I thought the canals in Amsterdam were a pretty change of view… But this… Lucky lady!

    AND you have a Chili's?! I honestly don't even like Chili's that much, but would kill for some now that I live in Europe! haha

    He did his Marines training there? That is the most legit statement ever. So cool! Coming from a military family, I just love hearing all about that.

    It was actually really nice today (maybe spring is coming…) so I was out by our picnic location by the currently-empty Capitol fountain and MISSING YOU! We could have stayed away from work for a good hour today! Alas, I only made it 30 minutes before feeling guilty. Anyway – love the photo of you and Cammy AND feeling like I need to stop being a bad friend and send you a care package! SO – let me know anything on a wish list (besides cappuccino and Tim's cooking!!) ๐Ÿ™‚
