Japan Life

Kyoto, Japan: The Most Magical Place in the Fall

A year later and Kyoto in the Fall is still one of our most favorite trips we’ve ever taken together. Maybe it was getting to experience amazing {mainland} Japanese culture in the heart of old country, or the brisk, cool weather… or the food {that hot Soba was incredible overlooking the Oi River!}… or being outside all day long exploring the city and surrounding towns on foot with coffee and roasted chestnuts in hand… or bathing in the traditional onsen every morning and every night, wearing the hotel Japanese pj’s {Cam was hilariously too big for his} and sleeping so hard in our super comfy tatami mat room after laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes. Maybe it was all of the above… and some. I realized I still had so many photos from that incredible trip that I had never edited or posted, and what better time to. If you ever get the opportunity to go to Kyoto or anywhere in Japan, please do! I mean it; Kyoto is the most magical place in the Fall.  What an absolutely amazing country we get to live in.

I just love all the colours in this post. Here in South Africa we don't have so many trees that change colour, the leaves just fall off and die. Boring compared to the magic you were able to witness.
