Italia Life

Magic in The Julian Alps of Italy

The beautiful village of Valbruna, at the end of the valley from our chalet.

My little Grace picked these at the end of our hike!!

Breakfast delivered every morning on our front porch in a basket — fresh meats and local cheese, yogurt, honey, fruit, pastries, bread and homemade jams… with Italian cappuccino, of course!

The owner’s garden turned into a real life fairy garden. The kids loved smelling the different herbs growing and we were able to pick from it anytime we cooked.

We got to spend quality family time this past week up in the Julian Alps, hiking, exploring alpine meadows and marveling at God’s creation together. We got to see so many gorgeous sights, but none so beautiful to us as this spot right here where our chalet was located. Our jaws dropped to the floor when we pulled up. From the location, how spotless it was, the hospitality given, so many generous details like arriving to a freshly baked cake and homemade jams… I still can’t believe the affordable price. We watched the sunrise each morning (up long before it, thanks, Gracie) and families of deer, and the kids wanted nothing more than to be together running and exploring these meadows, so happy and free in the wide open space and mountain air. It was amazing family time that we are so thankful for!!

In our minds, this is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places in all of Europe.

My mouth waters with jealousy! Your travels are amazing! This reminds me of a trip to Switzerland, I think the theme song to Sound of Music was in my head the entire time. I will now have to add the Julian Alps to my list too!!
