(Keeping it Honest in) Lovely Rovinj, Croatia

You’d never know it from these photos, but the first half of the day in beautiful Rovinj was a bit of a disaster. I would guess that most parents will probably say, “duh!” to this, but to be completely honest, traveling with our sweet kids has often been exhausting. I can still see Cam looking over at me, holding one of our screaming babies while I held the other in the middle of a crowded cobblestone street of tourists in Rovinj, and saying WHAT THE HECK ARE WE DOING!? Sometimes we just have to break out laughing to keep our stress levels down.  The last part of the day here was wonderful, with about ten shared gelato, after we lowered and changed our expectations for our babies’ sake, and that’s when I was able to snap all of these photos. We are learning as we go. I’m sharing this just to stay honest with you. Like most good things, it isn’t easy to travel with our precious children.. It’s parenting in a different location, and usually harder, but we’re so very thankful we get to do it! We’re getting to create some absolutely amazing memories together as a family. And I am so thankful to parent alongside Cam.

Mom and Dad, I want to bear hug you. Thank you so much for traveling with us four kids as much as we did growing up! I’m realizing the enormity of that gift all the more as a parent.

Though you may have had a rough go of it, your pictures still look beautiful! I find that in traveling, the difficult times end up being found memories that you can laugh about over and over. 🙂

I completely agree, Ashley! Thank you. To be honest, it would probably be much easier if all of us were sleeping at night, but we haven't since moving here, so 🙂

Thanks for keeping it real! Still looks gorgeous and it's great you can still laugh even when things seem out of hand. 🙂 Where is your skirt from? So cute!

What are you talking about, Mands? Traveling with a kid (or two) is SO EASY. It's totally like traveling with just you and your spouse. If you two were also traveling with a herd of cats. It's a good thing Cam is military because you basically are carrying the equivalent of a ruck sack in full battle rattle in your purse with snacks/toys/diapers/change of clothes/books/WINE/chocolate… you know what I mean. I also didn't realize that the holy grail is nap time. So traveling makes the search for said holy grail harder than anything Indiana Jones went through. 🙂 "What??? He fell asleep in the stroller as we are walking to the car? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Hope that made you smile. MISS YOU LIKE CRAZY!!!!

I am laughing outloud. Thank you for that. And I still chuckle about "but it's not as good or salty as Carabba's!?"
      MISS YOU!!!!!
