Japan Life

Snowshoeing in Narnia

I love summer forever amen, but something I admire about the cold is God’s awesome creativity on display. He makes things spectacularly beautiful, even in the very dead of winter when the leaves and colors have all but vanished. It snowed the entire time we were up in Hokkaido, except for a few minutes here and there. The falling snow made everything so quiet and peaceful and covered all the roads and trees in glistening white. It was magical watching it come down on the back roads behind our cabin, at the base of Mt Yotei. And so much fun to watch John Shea’s face as he saw it and felt it for the first time! I’ve said it so many times on here before, but Japan is such a remarkable and gorgeous country.

Wow. I know I was telling you how jealous I am of your warmish weather, but this winterland vacation looks wonderful. I keep on hoping for a major dumping of snow here! (I mean, if it is going to be this cold, it might as well snow!).
