Vineyard Stay at Meneghetti Winery in Istria, Croatia

Did you know… that some of the best wines in the entire world are from Croatia? There are so many small, family-run vineyards growing indigenous varietals that our list of favorites has gotten too long to even keep track of!! Meneghetti is considered one of Croatia’s top wines, but I think the real gem is their gorgeous vineyard hotel, restaurant and olive oils made from the grove on the property.

Thanks to Meneghetti, our family got stay in a beautiful residence that was literally in the vines. The main building is a restored Istrian farmhouse and the rest of the small hotel is brand new– made to look and feel like it was there all along. It does! It’s truly such a peaceful place in a gorgeous, quiet part of Istria, just a couple minutes from the sea.

Breakfast was amazing… I love anywhere that serves made-to-order omelets and lattes. But they go so far beyond that with warm croissants, homemade yogurt and honey and cakes, local cheese and meats. Oh, yes please! They also make homemade pastas with seasonal ingredients for lunch and dinner, served on the patio with their wine and olive oils. The babies couldn’t get enough of playing with their toy cars and tractors in the gravel walkways in between bites. So basically we were all in heaven!
