Weekend Drive Up The West Coast

Pitstop on the side of the road for some chicken yakitori and bento boxes.

Those sweet jowls! And look of pure joy!!

A couple of snaps {mostly through the car window!} up North on the West Coast. We love that drive. I will never forget the first time we drove the entire Coast, all the way up to Cape Hedo on one of our first weekends here two years ago. We were totally blown away, and the many times we’ve headed up that way since, on a clear day, like yesterday, we never cease to be in amazement. Honestly, if you were to fly here and get off the plane in the capital, you’d probably not find the island beautiful from that first impression. It’s incredibly urban on the southern half, and all of the buildings are old concrete, made to withstand typhoons and not terribly attractive. Though to us, we love this island and people so much there is charm even there. But I don’t think anyone could deny the natural beauty of this island. It is beyond stunning. We are thankful to have so many incredible memories enjoying it.
