Japan Life

Sakura Blooms

The cherry blossoms are starting to bloom! Yayy. Spring in my soul.

I love being in Japan for this. One of our favorite things when we lived in DC {maybe Cam’s only favorite thing!?} was seeing the cherry blossoms and learning about the history and relationship they signify between Japan and the US.  Living out here, we can wholeheartedly tell you that our friendship is alive and well, and strong as ever.

Further evidenced by the two bags of freshly picked potatoes, carrots, lettuce and broccoli our sweet neighbors just gave us (:

If you live in DC are you going to the Cherry Blossom Festival or running in the 5k?

Last year’s beautiful blooms.

Cherry blossoms are my all time favorite here in CA. We have orchards after orchards of them.. even a "Blossom Trail" that people come far just to drive down it.

I'm sure seeing them in Japan is even more lovely!

Your photos are so gorgeous! I love the cherry blossoms in DC, but I haven't done the run before. I'll have to see if there are any spots left so we can do it this year — we're supposed to get orders any day, so this is probably our last year in DC.

I live just outside Washington, and holy cow: the cherry blossoms just seem to get more beautiful every year! My mom and I make a special trip to go at least twice every spring, and this year will be extra special: my fiance and I will have our engagement shoot there in March! πŸ™‚ I associate spring with the start of our relationship, and there's something so magical and gorgeous about sakura. Truly cannot wait!
