Life

17 Weeks

HI!!

I didn’t plan on taking a break from blogging, and such a long one at that, but I’ve been so sick the past three months (much more than I ever was with John!) that I had to. It’s good to be back (I’ve missed this awesome community, and it’s also such a relief to not want to puke everyday, hooray…) and couldn’t have been for a better reason. Praise God for the sweet gift of another baby on the way!! If you remember when I miscarried this summer, this is as true when I wrote this then as it is now:  Jesus Christ makes all things new!

We have the second trimester ultrasound next week, and will hopefully be able to see if John Shea is going to be a big brother to a little girl or boy. We are ecstatic.

I read this in my devotional on the last day of 2014 and it couldn’t have been more perfect to start the new year (2015! It came so fast!!) :

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, and His mercy lasts forever. Psalm 118:1

“Think of these as living, important, rich Words, which embrace and contain everything. Namely, that God is kind. Not like a person, but as the One who is always favorably inclined to help and do good from the bottom of His heart. He makes such kind and gracious favor richly and mightily known beyond all measure with His daily and eternal blessings, as He says here, ‘Thy mercy endures forever.’ That is, without interruption, He does the best things for us always. He forms our body and soul, defends us day and night, preserves us in life without fail, gives the sun and moon to shine on us, gives us the heavens, fire, air and water, wine, food, clothing, lumber, and all the necessities that grow from the earth, gives gold and silver, house and home, wife and child, beast, bird, fish.

In summary, who can count it all?? He does all of this fully and surpassingly every year, every day, every hour, every instance.”
