A Very Special Lady

My Grandmother, "Mika" passed away on Tuesday. She was one of the most joyful and life-filled people we've ever known. She was beloved by everyone she ever met -- to this day, we have friends who only met her once and still ask about her and say they love her. Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Whew, I apologize for not getting a post up sooner! But it's for good reason. We found a house!!!! I will share much more about it in future posts since we are still waiting to close, but Lord willing, in two more weeks, we will have a home here and we are so thankful!  It's been a long PCS season for our family and we are very excited to finally get settled. Just two boys out trying to catch some abnormally large Carolina fireflies... Today in Croatia

All Saints Day is celebrated today and it's had me thinking back to the sights and smells we experienced on this day with each Fall in Croatia. I can vividly picture our older neighbors walking up our steep street, carrying big white and red candles and bouquets of flowers, both fake and real, on their way to the Šestine Cemetery, the smell of incense and burning candles wafting all throughout Zagreb.
