North Carolina Farmhouse

Latest Antique Finds: Our 1890’s Fireplace Mantel from Beaufort, NC

This beautiful mantel came out of a late 1800’s house in the historic district of Beaufort, North Carolina. (Remember when we visited that adorable town with Cam’s parents?) I owe a big thanks to my husband who swore to me that he would never again put a piece of furniture on top of our SUV. So I better not ask him. Wellll, thanks for doing exactly that, honey;)

It’s hanging out in our bedroom until we add antique brick to the fireplace in our living room and can attach it there. This was a pretty spot while I wrapped presents, but let’s keep things honest– right now I have about four loads of laundry dumped where the gifts were, begging to be folded before our toddlers jump and role in that pile so much that I have to rewash it all!

I love the clean lines and simplicity of it, and having a piece of North Carolina history in our home!

If you also love antiques, you can see my finds from the Zagreb Antique Market here, here and here.
